1997
We kick off our journey through time in 1997. UTA’s homepage was … let’s call it utilitarian. But make no mistake, 1997 was a year of blockbusters. James Cameron’s Titanic smashed box office records, and Elton John’s Candle in the Wind 1997 made a record-setting climb to end up as the second-highest selling single of all time. Other blockbusters? Larry Page and Sergey Brin launched a little site called Google. Maybe you’ve heard of it?

2001
On a cool San Francisco morning on October 23, 2001, Steve Jobs took the stage at an Apple Special Event and announced the iPod. It held a thousand songs, which he called a “quantum leap in listening to music.”
UTA’s site also took its first “quantum leap”, and expanded dramatically to include more departments, admissions, and the most quantum leap of all – online payments!

2005
Fact: If you had a Motorola RAZR, you were the coolest person in the world. There were some pretty neat tech products that year—the XBOX 360, YouTube, and, of course, the RAZR.
For the first time, UTA’s homepage added a big, beautiful homepage hero that showed off current Mavericks. Also included for the first time: the now indispensable site search bar.

2011
defined by the global sensation of Game of Thrones and the rise of Adele’s hit album 21, while technology saw the launch of the first iPad, the rise of social media platforms like Instagram, and the continued growth of smartphones, with the release of the iPhone 4S and Siri.

2017
“Wow, this new homepage is cool! Alexa, play Despacito”
In 2017, UTA rolled out what would be the genesis of the site design that you know and (hopefully) love. Cards, big, vibrant images, drop shadows and more perfectly aligned with the First VSCO Era.
Also in 2017: Apple rolled out FaceID, Netflix and Spotify set new streaming records, and Thor and Wonder Woman ruled the box office.

2025
We wrap up our tour in 2025! What’s next for the homepage? You’ll find out soon, but we promise it’s cool. Trust us!
